Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk III provides highly-skilled financial support to the College of Nursing Business Operations, and to ensure timely completion of vendor payments, account reconciliations, and other business payments/forms. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the application of elementary and advanced bookkeeping principles to a variety of transactions in a central accounting system. Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are up-to-date. Assist with financial records. Ensure the timely and accurate processing and payment of vendor invoices, travel authorizations, checks, expense reports, and other business forms. Prepare travel and expense reports. Assist with HR functions, including payroll. Responsible for monthly account reconciliations, including ProCard transactions. Enter data into UT Share and reconciles all documentation. Recommend resolution for financial discrepancies and problems. Distributes and tracks monthly phone logs. Other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications

High school graduation. Three (3) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (such as; general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll) or the equivalent.



Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate-to-Advanced MS Excel, Project Management and/or Intermediate MS Access experience.



Working Conditions

Microsoft Excel and Word, Accounting Principles, State of Texas Procurement Guidelines, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll.
